FAQ’S
Thanks so much for visiting the Grow Therapy website. We’re delighted you’re here!
1) Are you taking new clients?
YES! We are taking new clients for individual and family therapy. Right now, our therapists that work primarily with couples do have a waitlist. You can contact our office at office@aimtogrow.com for the details on the waitlist.
2) Do you accept insurance?
YES! However, our therapists are only in-network with BCBS IL PPO plans. You can always pay for your session with a Flexible Spending or Savings Account card or HSA (Health Savings Account). Unfortunately, we cannot submit visits to any other insurance carriers at this time, even if you want to use an out-of-network benefit.
3) How does insurance work?
Great question, and one we get often! Your insurance provides certain benefits to help you pay for health care, including mental/behavioral health care (which is considered therapy/counseling). The very best way to determine what your insurance will cover is to call the 800 number on the back of your card to find out about your coverage.
Your insurance benefit call will tell you three things:
1) Your deductible: “The amount you pay for covered health care services before your insurance plan starts to pay. With a $2,000 deductible, for example, you pay the first $2,000 of covered services yourself. After you pay your deductible, you usually pay only a copayment or coinsurance for covered services.” (healthcare.gov)
2) Your co-pay amount: This is a set amount that you’re responsible for paying each visit.
3) Your co-insurance: This is a percentage of the visit that you’re responsible for paying each visit.
Your co-pay/co-insurance or full session fee depending on your insurance benefit plan’s deductible are due at the time of each visit.
4) What if I'm out of state?
We can only provide therapy to persons whose primary residence is in the state of IL.
5) Are sessions in-office or virtual?
Right now we’re still scheduling nearly all sessions virtually however some of the therapists are slowly seeing clients in person. It’s safe to assume your session will be virtual unless you and the therapist have made other arrangements.
6) How do we pay for our session?
Cash, credit card or check please. Plus, HSA or FSA cards are always welcome. If you're using insurance, we'll submit our session to BCBS IL PPO and you'll be responsible for the co-pay, co-insurance or deductible that your policy deems you're responsible for. If you're not using insurance, it's just a straight up fee that you'll pay at the time of session.
You are entitled to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” of what the charges could be for psychotherapy services provided to you. While it is not possible for a psychotherapist to know, in advance, how many psychotherapy sessions may be necessary or appropriate for a given person, this form provides an estimate of the cost of services provided. Your total cost of services will depend upon the number of psychotherapy sessions you attend, your individual circumstances, and the type and amount of services that are provided to you. This estimate is not a contract and does not obligate you to obtain any services from the provider(s) listed, nor does it include any services rendered to you that are not identified here. This Good Faith Estimate is not intended to serve as a recommendation for treatment or a prediction that you may need to attend a specified number of psychotherapy visits. The number of visits that are appropriate in your case, and the estimated cost for those services, depends on your needs and what you agree to in consultation with your therapist. You are entitled to disagree with any recommendations made to you concerning your treatment and you may discontinue treatment at any time.
7) How much are sessions?
$175 for the first two sessions. These are considered evaluation sessions. $150 for every session thereafter. 1 session = 50 minutes. The fee for a 50-minute psychotherapy visit (in-person or via telehealth) is $175 for the first two sessions and $150 for every session thereafter. Most clients will attend one psychotherapy visit per week, but the frequency of psychotherapy visits that are appropriate in your case may be more or less than once per week, depending upon your needs. Based upon a fee of $175 for the first two visits, and $150 for each visit thereafter, if you attend one psychotherapy visit per week, your estimated charge would be $650 for four visits provided over the course of one month; $1250 for eight visits over two months; or $1550 for 12 visits over three months. If you attend therapy for a longer period, your total estimated charges will increase according to the number of visits and length of treatment.
If you’re seeing Lisa Pisha for services, her hourly rate is $225 for a 50 minute session and $325 for a 75-minute session (in-person or telehealth).
8) Can I book more than one hour with a therapist at a time?
Believe it or not, we can get a lot accomplished in an hour together! Whether we're working together with just you, you and your partner or another family member, one hour time slots will be our typical amount of session time.
9) What can I/we do in the meantime until our appointment together?
As big fans of books, knowledge, insight, and alternative or additional ways of thinking we’re also proponents of journaling and self-work, self-process and self-discovery. Therefore, there are a ton of books/podcasts/websites that we’d like to share with you. Please feel free to click here to be directed to our New Client Resource Guide.
10) What other options do you offer for self and relationship growth?
Lisa runs a few groups yearly based on the work of Brené Brown, Ph.D. Daring Greatly™ and Rising Strong™ are among two of them that she often opens up registration for in Fall and Winter. Click here to be put on an email list to be notified of the upcoming groups and click here to learn more about them!
